Media Circus II Ages 7-12 July 17 to 21, 2017

$10 for the week, including art materials and a healthy snack.
Our summer art programs offer five afternoons of safe, fun and challenging art classes from Monday to Friday. The instructor is Shirley Hart along with her team of teenage assistants, the same as our very popular after school programs.
Media Circus uses drawing, painting, modelling clay, and a variety of crafts and learning activities suitable for artistic young minds at all levels of accomplishment. The emphasis is on creative self-expression and enjoyment while learning and exploring.
We're willing to include 6 year olds if they have enough experience with a formal classroom setting and can work independently, or if they're coming with an older sibling.
Thanks to the support of our sponsors Harvard Broadcasting, Painted Hand Community Development Corporation, SaskLotteries and the City of Yorkton we are able to offer these week-long programs at a cost of $10, including art materials and a healthy snack!

For this class instructor Jeann Spilak is including a focus on painting flowers and on painting buildings, for the subjects of paintings on their own and also to create more complex landscapes.
We're very pleased to welcome Jeann Spilak back for 2017 class. Jeanne is one of Yorkton's most prolific artists, constantly exploring ideas and opportunities to share her love of art, creativity and painting. She brings very practical approach to getting the results you're looking for.
If you have art materials, please bring them to the first class. If you're a beginner or don't have art supplies, we'll provide what you need for the first class and give you a list of basic materials, most of which can often be purchased at Walmart or other local outlets.

Digital Camera Basics - Registration is now complete
Three Sunday afternoons
Explore and understand camera fundamentals, composition, and diverse approaches to making striking images shooting still life, architecture, portraits and people.
The classes are based on DSLR or mirrorless cameras and often welcome guest photographers such as Kristopher Grunert and Barbara Rindisbacher. Many opportunities for hands-on experience including working with still life set ups and live subjects in a variety of lighting situations. Bring your questions and we'll help you find the answers.
Every week our goal is to have you start taking pictures within the first 30 minutes of the class.
When you register we'd like to find out what camera you use and what kind of photographs you like to take. This will help us be prepared. To make sure you can find the settings you need on your camera, everyone is asked to either bring their manuals or be able to access them online using the free internet at the gallery.
