Art Six Pack With Diane Koch is a series of six painting classes that feature acrylic paints and Diane's unique and engaging approach. Each week you'll learn new techniques and you can choose to work on large or small canvases that you develop with Diane's guidance and direction.

Diane Koch is a legendary Yorkton art instructor with flair and style in a amazing range of techniques and mediums. Diane's classes are enjoyable and friendly for beginners, and give more experienced painters the chance to really take advantage of her skills, abilities, and creative enthusiasm.

New for 2020 - optional art supply package!
The registration fee is $100 and you must supply your own materials. Each person will need a set of acrylic paints, a few brushes, and a few canvases. These materials are usually inexpensive and easily available locally, but we are pleased to introduce a new option: you can purchase a basic set of art supplies through the gallery.
Godfrey Dean Art Gallery will put together packages of good quality brushes, acrylic paints, and some canvases that you can purchase after you register. We anticipate the cost will be about $45 for a basic package

Summer art classes
See you in summer 2020!

Our summer art programs offer five afternoons (or mornings!) of safe, fun and challenging art classes from Monday to Friday. The instructor is Shirley Hart along with her team of teenage assistants.

Media Circus uses drawing, painting, modelling clay, and a variety of crafts and learning activities suitable for artistic young minds at all levels of accomplishment. The emphasis is on creative self-expression and enjoyment while learning and exploring.

We're planning a new class for 5 and 6 year olds! If they have enough experience with a formal classroom setting and can work independently, a morning class during the first week, July 15 to 19, will be avaliable.

Thanks to the support of our sponsors Harvard Broadcasting, Painted Hand Community Development Corporation, SaskLotteries and the City of Yorkton we are able to offer these week-long programs at a cost of $15, including art materials and a healthy snack.

Photography Workshop Series
Digital Camera Basics - classes are now complete

Explore and understand camera fundamentals, composition, and diverse approaches to making striking images shooting still life, architecture, portraits and people.

The classes are based on DSLR or mirrorless cameras and often welcome guest photographers such as Kristopher Grunert and Barbara Rindisbacher. Many opportunities for hands-on experience including working with still life set ups and live subjects in a variety of lighting situations. Bring your questions and we'll help you find the answers.

Every week our goal is to have you start taking pictures within the first 30 minutes of the class.

When you register we'd like to find out what camera you use and what kind of photographs you like to take. This will help us be prepared. To make sure you can find the settings you need on your camera, everyone is asked to either bring their manuals or be able to access them online using the free internet at the gallery.
